Pretty cool ending, though I would have liked a little denoument after killing the bad guy at the end, personally... On the bright side, I might be able to actually concentrate on work now... ;)

I'm still on Chapter 2.. I haven't play much at all though..
I haven't had time to play at all for at least a week. :P Still on the prison level :D
I'm in the middle of Chapter 2 right now. I'm enjoying this a ton, even though I can't wait until we play online with the module under development, etc.
I went out and bought the E3 Players Handbook for reference. NWN follows the rules almost precisely with only a few variances. I think playing through the campaign offline will make it easier to start off online because all the players will be a little more familiar with the interface, etc. There are still times in a major battle where I have to pause to figure out where I put that item or I forgot what hot key I programmed it too, etc.
This is probably the best game I have bought since I originally bought T2. I liked Jedi Knight alot, but unfortunately it gets boring fast as offline mode is pretty short and online mode is kind of redundant. The Rats have WWII Online a mess right now so most of my gaming is all NWN.
Please keep us posted on the progress of the module Z & Squidly (and/or anyone else involved in it)
Sounds like I'm right about where Hy is. I'm hoping to get my computer put back together tonight and get some more quality game time in on it. Also hoping to fire up the editor one of these nights and get cranking on something of my own.
Right now Void is in a pretty intense stretch of competition, and that's been taking up all of
my gaming time. We're #7 on the Base++ ladder, challenging for #2.
I'll get back to NWN eventually :)
All my gaming time has been spent in module development and play testing. I am really enjoying using the toolset. I hope to finish the geography and mapping soon, and move on to scripting. This module is turning out to be much larger than anticipated and hopefully will provide some good adventuring. I'll gtet around to posting the backstory soon.
hmm.. I should work on my module some more.. but I can't seem to find the time with the house as empty as its been.. lol..
Level 10 Fighter - cleaning up in the Troll caves. :)
I've just started Chapter 2. I spend most of my of my NWN time fooling around with the toolset. I'm going for the persistant world model. When I have enough content I'll put it up and let people piddle on it.
Good luck with scripting, the bioware forums are probably the best place to find what little information is available. However, BioWare's OOD is the best I've seen in a long time.
Im kinda pissed that bioware changed/added/forgot a number of things.
Most of all Discipline. great skill...it should A:not exist, or B:be a feat. >This essentially eliminatesall of the monks special attacks. Knockdown is an opposed strength check, so the advantage of a fighter is still there. This skill is both unnecessary, and I believe, Unbalancing. If you want some backup for that. for a thief, it takes a magical piece of equipment to prevent knockdown. and some locking gauntlets...(skill check mod something like -8, yeah fantastic) to prevent disarm.
Parry...Instead of actively defending..(normally +2 AC for all non fighter classes, I believe fighters get +1 ac a level) they added a skill that not only allows you to completely negate enemy attacks, but counter attack with an increaced chance to hit...pretty well eliminates the thrill of PVP.
Whirlwind is missing. along with most of its prerequisites.
I was hoping for some prestige classes, but since this game sets up for epic level characters in an addon or something similar.
Some of the fun shield feats are missing. such as bash and charge.
Why is it that people flatly refuse to allow weapons to be one, or two handed? a bastard sword is one such weapon, it deals slightly more damage in two handed mode.
Same with a katana.
Where the hell are all the reach weapons? a fundamental part of mideval history is missing here. wars arent won with swords and shields, its won with longspears and pikes.
Plus fighting someone with a spear would be an excersize in its own.
Tumble skill is missing. this skill is used to tumble through someones threat area, avoiding attacks of opportunity, not without its drawbacks though, you dont want to even know what happens when you fail.
Coup De Grace is not an automatically used skill, its a feat damnit. you have to know how to kill someone whos on the ground before you can do it.
Its unfortunate that bioware saw it fit not to include subrace bonuses and special abilities.
Psionics are missing..as a class of course. Everyone seems to have a bias against them. Punks.
Im not going to say anything about the campaign. since thats all customizable.
I suppose you can sum my beefs up into "its not like real D&D" but thats of course is too broad.
I would have prefered not to see such things as discipline, and parry. and i can live without the feats that wernt included. Unfortunately D&D 3e was designed to be balanced, and somehow bioware thought they could further that concept.
The few things thatdo exist in 3e are such crazy plans as Druid +Grizzly bear animal companion + animal growth = a bear that can grapple an ancient dragon, and win hands down.
Hey thats also whats missing, Grapple...
On contraire, mon fraire. This is just the tip of the old iceberg. Check out the "module" section here: http://www.neverwinterfiles.com. There's already a bunch of fan modules posted. So keep those swords sharp and spell reagents handy. :)Quote:

It's "Mon Frere", not "Mon Fraire".

^^ Bribo ^^
There's a ton of modules available already and the only hard part is figuring out which ones are done well and which ones were just thrown together. Their community boards are like WWIIO... almost impossible to keep up with due to the volume of posts. Although not quite as much whining on the NWN boards as their is on the WWIIO boards. <G>
Although I'm still having a blast with offline mode (Level 16 Paladin working on Chapter 3), I can't wait to play multiplayer as I think that is where the most enjoyment will come from.
