Postcard from the Edge...
It seems that a few bits of software have slipped past my all-seeing eye lately, so I thought I would share them with you today.
First, for those of you who are running SoundBlaster Audigy cards will be happy to know that Creative Labs has been pimpin' it in the driver market for their OEM customers. Unfortunately, they've not been giving us retail buyers the same play. If you're running XP drivers for the Audigy, odds are you've been running the same driver version since Christmas-time 2001. Blissfully, we can now update our drivers using the files that Compaq has made available for their OEM customers. The only catch is that you have to delete the CTOem.cfg file from the compaq\setup directory to make the drivers properly detect the card. There's two packages available: the first, weighing in at 154M, contains the updated drivers, installation file, and updated programs; the second, a mere 16M, contains only the driver files. Anyhow, check it out here:

Second, WinAMP3 has finally been released. Anyone who's been a long-time user of WinAMP will appreciate the new features and the new skinning capabilities. The download can be found right here:

Enjoy!
