Haven't touched it since The Void closed shop.
I was playing for half an hour one day....the game still sucks
Playing with NR and Badwill on Riven.

POST DEMOS!
actually, Tribes 2 Classic is quite nice. Me and Severity(another ex-aYg guy) have been playing it.
Classic killed the game for me. Not directly, but the long delay in rolling it out caused my interests to head elsewhere.
Personally, I think the Classic patch/mod sucks. I prefer Base++ which I think was perfect.
I still have the game on my hard drive, but I haven't played in months. I just can't bear to uninstall it after countless hours practicing, setting up a Game Commander profile, etc. :)
I don't want to burst anyones bubble, but you gotta let the game go. it's a done deal, a cooked turkey, a Atari 2600 memory! Sierra really did a dumb thing by killing Dynamix and making this game slip away like it has. Just do the uninstall and remember all the good times :-)
(buy Medal of Honor and the Spearhead exp!!!)
Its not even on my hard drive anymore.
My CD has been assigned to "coaster duty", and now resides under a bottle of Ommegang Belgian ale.
Tribes 2 was a great game, and there is a huge community out there still playing it.
That being said I think the players have been fractured amongst the various mods.
Hopped on two weeks ago just to play with a couple friends, but that's it....
I think making all the different mods killed the game....
I was playing a little bit - mostly Siege - up until the latest patch. The patch nerfed half my scripts, and the new soccer-type game didnt' look like Tribes at all. I got BF1942 that same week, and it wasn't hard to switch. I've thought about trying it again, but then I think about learning yet another rule set and messing with all the scripts again. So far, there's always been something more interesting than learning Tribes for the sixth time.
I agree with the comments about mods. I've always hated them, because they dissipate the player base. I also hate the way they keep messing with the game with each patch. The point of a game is that everybody plays the same game. That way, everyone can zoom in on one set of rules and raise the play to a high level of skill. I don't really care what the rules are, just so long as they're stable.
