HALO
Already finished it on the Xbox.
I enjoyed it on the XBox for a while. The graphics were very nice but the gameplay got pretty repetative for me.
I hated the way vehicles controled.
yeah, that should've been out for PC well over a year ago... I'm gonna be like Stitch and say screw it..
I can't blame you Slaughter. You have every right to write the game off. I sort didn't expect HALO to make it to the PC so now that they are making waves with the PC version being only a few months out. I'm a little excited!
We shall see!
Halo was great fun on the X-Box, especially hookking up 4 together for some 16 player lag free CTF. My only complaint was that I hate playing a FPS with a console control. With a mouse and keyboard control may be a little easier.
I tried Halo on Xbox, and didn't care for it. After several PC shooters, the console control felt completely awkward.
That's my complaint. I just can't play an FPS without a keyboard/mouse. Probably jut "old dog" syndrome.
I notice that the PS2 now has an optional keyboard and I believe the Xbox is coming out with one as well. It would be great if you could customize your settings to use the keyboard in FPS games. I might start playing them if I had this option.
Yeah, if you read a bit into most halo for PC articles they say things like increaced multiplayer support. IE: 30 players in team games. some changes such as new weapons, stuff like that, I'm definately going to pick this up.
I don't think its going to blow anything away, but I won't buy console FPS. And there you have it.
RE: The Xbox controller in Halo...
You get used to it. Just like the first time you used a mouse in a FPS game, it's awkward - but you get used to it.
Of course many people never take the time...they fumble around with the thumbsticks, overturning or underturning and get frustrated - so they quit.
For me, I forgot I was even using a control pad by about the third level. Months after finishing it, I picked it up again only to discover that I had totally lost my "feel" for the controller. I'm again rooted in a mouse/keyboard world. :)
I have no doubt that if I spent a little time with it I'd pick it back up again tho. Halo is an awesome game... It's a bit repetitious in the middle (they make you fight your way back out through an a generic looking area you cleared earlier), but once the game gets to the "Flood" section it rocks the snizzle offa yo nizzle.
