The only problem is that going backward in time is far more difficult than going forward (using current known physical laws) and since they have to come "back" to get you before you can go "forward" I doubt you'd ever collect on your $10.
This has scam written all over it.
But you knew that. ;)
Mmmm Live forever.. but what if you did something meaningful with your life and when they come back to get you they negated everything and thus wiped out all of human existance?
Why in the hell would I want to live forever? For all we know, being dead might be totally kick-ass... not that I want to find out anytime soon.
Call me a pessimist, but I think we live among the first generation in several thousand years where the world will be a worse place for the next generation instead of better. I just can't think of a good reason to want to live forever, even for ten bucks.
I'm signing up. And for just one small tasty reason:

Mmmm Slurm.. I only want to come back if Bender can be my best friend though..

Since all of the future is in place, that's a hell of a lot of time to invent this technology. Unless like Bribo mentioned, you might be able to go forward but never backwards through time. So if no one is currently getting pulled into the future, then no one will ever invent how to travel backwards through time. Ok, I think I confused myself now.
I'll offer a discount to anyone who wants to do this, I will offer to come back and get you for only $7.50.
I know it's a scam, but it is thought provoking.
Do they bring everyone into the same point in time in the future?
There is an option to come back, so I guess your $3B will cover part of that. Unless a cheeseburger costs $3B by then.
Sometimes it's just fun to sit back and think about stuff like this.
Absoutely I saw a discussion on this on tv once and they were asking everyone if they could go back in time what time period would you go to and why?Quote:

Alternate History is another great thought provoking topic.
1. What if you go back to the holy land, and find out that 12 guys wrote a fictional book of stories. The religious landscape as we know it wouldn't exist. The crusades would never have happened, or the spanish inquisition. Those people would've spawned millions of descendants. Who would they be? As we all know, every society on earth has a method of "higher being", what would have taken hold in lieu of christianity?
2. ****DISCLAIMER****
This one is a sensitive one, so please understand these are hypothetical "what if(s)?", not "I wish".
What if he never existed? Would the Soviets have taken advantage of that weakness? Would they have steamrolled Europe to a communist empire? We would've "gone it alone" for the cold war. would we have won then? Their supplies and resources would've been vast if they included the Western European nations.
Without him, would sensitivity to the Jewish plight been as exposed? would Israel have been created?
What else?
What if we killed Saddam during all those chances we had in the Clinton administration?
What if Russian Czars were never overthrown?
It may be worth it, if you submit your wife name.. Hmmm
