Zorro can get it here.
Zorro got it, and it's running now... Look for the August Knights BF1942 MP DEMO Server in your server browsers or whatever we're going to have in this game... ;) I've capped the player limit at 32 for now... I'll try really stressing it at some point, but 32 seems fine for now... GL and see you in 12 hours 34 minutes... :D
I got the demo and I can't wait to play. See you there!
Uhh, I still don't see an AK 1942 server. What is it called?
Hope that helps Hale ;)Quote:

Looking at the servers alphabetically, under 'A', I don't see it.
*shrug* I have no clue..
What's the IP plz?
I took it down because it was causing problems... I'll do some testing tomorrow to see if it's viable to bring back up again... I wish they'd release a Linux version of the server, but I doubt we'll see it... That means we'll have to run it on the one Win32 box I have over here... Another problem is that the beast is a bandwidth HOG. In its current form that bad boy can suck up an entire T1's worth of bandwidth and come looking for more... That may dictate that we'll have to forego a pub server unless they're able to pare down some of that need for pipe... We'll see...
Well I put the server back up and it seems to be working fine; however, I was forced to take it back down again due to the omnipresent TK's that I couldn't do a SINGLE thing about... Unfortunately, the adminintrative interface for the server is grossly inadequate and doesn't allow remote players to perform administrative functions. Worst yet, even when you can do admin functions, the interface is non-existant and the processes cumbersome... Here's hoping that Dice/EA fix these problems in the release, or that they made the program extensible enough that someone can mod it to increase its ease of administration. Anyway, I'll throw it back up again today and see how things go with the TK's and all that... Bastards...
I saw the server! :)
I had a 160 ping! :)
It was full.
Yeah, I don't think we're going to be running a Pub server for BF1942... It simply sucks up too much bandwidth, and I can't pay the T1 bills as they are... :) If the release version is more efficient, we'll look at it again. For now, I'll set it up a "semi-pub" with a password of "hellfire" for anyone that wants to play. That way it won't be continually full, but you will have a decent chance of playing against someone that's not a complete penis wrinkle... Enjoy...
Who wants to try out the server some evening this week? I've been practicing my flying but I need someone to shoot. :)
It seems to be disturbingly easy to drop a bomb, and then ram it in mid-air, with dire consequences to your plane. Anyone else do this??
I've also been sniping a bit. One shot, one kill.
Just got back from some good pubbing on the BF1942 servers. I was able to get into one that wasn't TOO laggy and had a blast. I've become quite useful in the driver's seat of a tank or behind an AA battery. Its very rewarding to send a tank shell through a village hooch and rack up the kills on a pinned down patrol detachment. I suppose I just like the idea of being the cavalry. Whatever you do, though, don't make me fly. I can hold my own in a plane, but I usually am cocunut tree bound a few minutes after takeoff.
