So, what did you think?
I'd have to say it was great :D I was the second person in line at our theater, and I loved every minute of the film.. I definetly got to see it a couple more times and get it when it comes out on DVD.
I saw it for the second time this morning with the wife and kids. I like it even more the second time around. I'll probably see it a third or fourth before the run is over. Then there's the pirate DVD... :D
Well I thought it was a decent flick, not on par with the older movies, but Georgie is coming closer. To be honest, there just aren't any characters I feel closeness to in episode one and two. In four, five and six, all the characters had so much life and energy, and you just loved them. The only character I can say I love in episode 2 is R2, he and 3PO are the only characters that transgress for me (is transgress the right word, heck I don't know). Just didn't bring out any of my emotions.
I felt as though there was a closeness between me and anakin, maybe likewise personalities? *Death Star here we come* not really, but I felt for Anakin.. and I feel he was well acted. Bring on Episode 3!
I liked Jango Fett, Dooku, and of course, Yoda.
Obi-Wan wasn't bad at all in this one.
I'll have to agree with you on those Squid.. and of course Yoda was awesome.. :D
I felt a certain closeness with Natalie Portman's right nipple. ;)
ROFL Bribo.. I know the feeling.. ;) :lol2:
I was pretty darned happy about this installment of the Star Wars saga. It didn't really blow me away, but it certainly lived up to my expectations, and anytime I can say that about a movie, I feel like I got my money's worth. (Not tomention that it was infinitely better than Episode I.) I'll likely be going back to see this in the theater again at some point, and when this movie hits DVD, I'll be waiting to pick it up.
It's unfair to criticize Clones based on the acting. Bad acting is a Star Wars tradition. Go back and watch 4, 5 and 6: "But Uncle Owen, Biggs and I were going to go into Tashi station and pick up some power converters!"
Harrison Ford was a great actor, of course. Carrie Fisher wasn't a bad actress, but wasn't really right for a guy movie. And Mark Hamil never rose to the level of mediocre.
I feel kinda sorry for Lucas, because what the critics are really saying is, "This movie didn't make me feel like a kid again, like 4, 5 and 6." That's because it's 25 years later, and we aren't kids any more. Lucas can't do anything about it.
The only thing I can criticize about Clones is that it didn't feel like a complete story. There was no emotional uplift at the end. But that's because it's the second movie in the set. The Empire Strikes Back was the same way.
How 'bout..."I want my 2 hours back"
'niff said.
'niff?
Did you ever watch Thndercats? because it sounds like something that might come from that.. although I'm not sure.. I might have heard it on there once while not paying full attention..Quote:
"You Called Down The Thunder. Now Reap The Whirlwind"

'Niff said is similar to 'Nuff said, but not a trademark phrase (of spiderman in this case)
When was the last time you watched a thundercats episode, Slaughter?
If its recently where did you find them? cuz i know you cant buy em unless there considerably old VHS copys.
Its hard enough to but transformers season 1 on DVD...
They've been playing Thundercats on Cartoon Network at 5pm est for a month or two now.. I don't watch it much though.. only if I find the simpsons episode at 5pm boring..
"You Called Down The Thunder. Now Reap The Whirlwind"

The original is from Hosea, chapter 8, verse 7: "They have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind." It's been used in many contexts since then. I thought somebody in WWII used it referring to Hitler or Japan, but I can't find it. Maybe part of Roovseveldt's Pearl Harbor speech?
There we go, Leo's on top of things.
Did you know that just offhand? (the Hosea quote)
I didnt look too hard. but i grabbed the quote from the siege tanks in Starcraft. Ive heard it before, thats why i didnt quote them on it.
Ive actuially come up with a new set of sig stuff, i just have to figure out these forums :P
I saw Attack of The Clones for the first time last night and could not get over the special effects of the movie....
I did not consider it to be the best Star Wars movie ever, but it was great to see Yoda doing something for a change.
Besides, I am a big Christopher Lee fan, I thought he did a great job!!!
So, I finally went and saw it on Monday...
When put into the context of the rest of the SW series, I'd say that the movie is good, but not superb. When judged on its own merits, I'd say that it's a very good sci-fi/action flick with super-cool effects and plenty of action to boot. The Padme/Anakin relationship thing grew a little tiresome. While the acting was not the greatest I've ever seen, I'd contend that its quality matches and surpasses that of any of the rest of the series. I'm grateful that we only had to endure Jar Jar for a few brief minutes in the movie...
Anyway, impressed I am, but it just didn't "feel" like Eps 4-6. About a gazillion times better than Ep 1. Here's hoping that the steady improvement continues through Ep 3. Thank you George Lucas for not disappointing a second time...
If you d/l it and watch it it has an older movie type feel.. except for all the romance stuff..
Just got around to seeing it myself. I thought it was pretty good, but I thought they could have cut about 3/4 of the love story out. Otherwise, a very good movie.
When I was back in college, we built a robot that looks a lot like one of the droid tanks. The one with big wheels with the body suspended between. If theirs works like ours did, its not a big surprise they lost the battle. :)
Thats what I wana do...build a tank and break things with it!
It was a mostly from a kit and only stood about 1 foot high I'm afraid. When the wheels turned, they spun the nuts holding the whole thing together. We'd run it down the hall and after a while it would start sheding parts. It was pretty interesting, I'm sure you can get much more advanced stuff today. Battlebots and such.
