Best Buy pre-order collector's edition.
I'm going to buy it on Steam.
Just ordered via steam. Unlocks at mid-night.
I wanted the bobblehead and lunchbox.
Ya, I thought about the full addition, but figured its would save me the crazy lines at target or Best buy tomorrow. Looks like some stores are opening or staying open to sell at midnight, not in albany of course. I am looking forward to playing as well as Red Alert 3 which release tomorrow too. I guess target will start selling Fallout at 8am and circuit city is give you a 10 gift cards for your hard earn dollars. Steam may be a long route since it appears that they are not pre-loading yet.
I purchased the Collector's Edition from EBWorld with the pre-order special with guaranteed delivery on the 29th (Wednesday). It came with something else - but can't remember what it was.
The Fallout 3 Collector's Edition includes:
* Fallout 3: From the creators of the award-winning Oblivion comes one of the most realized game worlds ever created. Create any kind of character you want and explore the open wastes of post-apocalyptic Washington, D.C. Every minute is a fight for survival as you encounter Super Mutants, Ghouls, Raiders, and other dangers of the Wasteland. Prepare for the future.
* Vault Boy Bobblehead: Enjoy your very own Vault Boy with this collector’s item direct from Vault-Tec.
* The Art of Fallout 3: This hardcover book features nearly 100 pages of never-before seen concept art and commentary from Bethesda Game Studios artists.
* The Making of Fallout 3: Get an exclusive, inside look at Bethesda Game Studios and the team behind the game with this special DVD.
* Vault-Tec Lunch Box: The entire package comes in a fully customized metal lunchbox.
Must......get ...... Lunchbox!!!!!
I'll probably pick mine up in person at Best Buy. Dunno which edition I'll get. I probably won't run out the first day. I've still got several other games I want to finish and get off my hard drive first.
Just got an xbox 360 last night. I may have to check this out. My PC can't handle much anymore.
I just got the call, I'll be picking up my copy at Midnight tonight.
Doing a lunch run tomorrow, and picking up the lunch box edition.
XBOX 360? I wish someone else in AK would buy a damned PS3. Its superiority is self-evident.
Speaking of the PS3, I think I'll probably get its version of Fallout 3. The game sounds as though it was designed primarily for consoles, anyway. The only downside is that I won't be able to use community mods. The upshot is that I can play it on a 50" plasma in stunning surround sound from my couch.
I got the collectors edition lunch box with the bobble head, art book, game (lol), etc.
I also picked up the collector editions hardcover strategy guide.
I have been up most of the night playing, I LOVE IT!
More later, I need a cup of coffee and a 30min cat nap.
I have heard some really great things about the PS3, however, I have several local friends with the xbox and deathmatch on xbox-live just can't be beat right now. Ideally I would have preferred to get a new PC, however, we have 4 gamers in my family that like to play together and 4 new PCs is just too costly.
The only game I have right now is Unreal Tournament 3. I will be hitting the used game store in the next week or so. I can't wait to play HALO co-op and Mass Effect. Feel free to add me as a friend if you xbox. Online profile is AK Vax.
Cool! Maybe we can find a game that we both have for some head-to-head action, Stitch. PSN: Palooka77
I got notification that my Fallout 3 was delivered today. Can't wait to go home now!
Based on this comparison post, I think I may just hold out for the PC version: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1359809
Now, where will I get $1500+ for a computer upgrade?
I'm only maybe an hour and a half to two hours in.. but I'm enjoying it so far. It's a little 'slow' to start out, but I just took my first quest from Megaton and headed to Super-Duper. Which makes me laugh because there use to be a supermarket chain in upstate NY called Super-Duper.
The graphics are fantastic and I love the environment, and surprisingly, I like the VAT system. Wasn't sure I would like how that was implemented, but I do.
I really wish I could integrate it with Steam though (I know you can add the shortcut, etc) - so I could play without the DVD. Definitely one of the advantages of purchasing on STEAM.
Hy, you could hit gamecopyworld to get a fixed .exe that will bypass the need to use your DVD. Granted as soon as a patch comes out you'll need to use your disc again.
