This would be a winner of a pick, IMO.
Sick of the old crew. This would be a ballsy move and invigorate a bunch of new voters.

Still speculation but hoping this turns out to be true. She's bring a hella balance to the McCain ticket. Palin rocks. It would also line her up for the Presidency in 2012.
She would be a very solid choice IMHO.
I get the feeling that I'm getting my hopes up only to get crushed.
Watch it turn out to be someone like Tom Ridge. :P
*yawn*
I read a report that she is presently still in Alaska - not Ohio - which does not bode well.
Now her advisers are equivocating.
"Her schedule is not officially been changed, but we do not know specifically where she is right now."
Source- Fox News.
Hope I can believe in. :P
The website that tracked Biden to Denver is now tracking a Gulfstream from Alaska to Ohio rumored to contain Palin and family, according to Squidly's Wikipedia link. I hadn't really heard of her before, but I like the pick if it's true.
Fox News is reporting that Palin is the pick.

Nuff said.
Never heard of this Lady but its a helluva move on his part .... Quoted from MSNBC
"During one debate before the primary, Palin said she was in favor of capital punishment in especially heinous cases such as the murder of a child. "My goodness, hang 'em up, yeah,” she said."
Maybe just what we need .......
From the Obama Campaign:
"Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency."
Um, I think she's the Governor. And could someone give me some of Obama's foreign policy experience? He sat on a couple of committees during his 144 days of experience. WOW! And he was Chairman of the Senate's subcommittee on European Affairs.... of course don't tell anyone that they didn't have a single meeting while he was Chairman.
I've got bellybutton lint with more experience than Obama.
And to just continue my ranting rage as this socialist asshole; let's look at this part of his speech:
"I will set a clear goal as President: in ten years, we will finally end our dependence on oil from the Middle East."
My god what a maroon. I'd love to see this plan. Did he call and tell ExxonMobile, TotalFinaElf, Shell, BP, and Chevron of this wonderful idea? This is the most childish crap I've ever heard.
The elitists running Obama's campaign really must hate small town America. This reminds me of the comment regarding "bitter Americans clinging to their guns and religion."
The whole "zero foreign policy experience" is pretty weak considering how much that Obama has in that department.
I actually hope the 'elitism' keeps coming from the Obama camp because it may be enough to drive alot of the undecideds over to McCain. If the thought of Obama as President isn't scary enough, think about Obama as President with control of both the Senate and House.
Gov. Palin is smart, beautiful (there is no sexier VP candidate in history), tough (she is an Alaska girl and former commercial fisherman, after all), charismatic (80% approval rating), and, most importantly, conservative. Yesterday, there were whispers that Kay Bailey Hutchison would be the pick. I was happy about that for many of the same reasons that I'm happy about the choice of Palin. McCain has an opportunity to win over a significant number of Hillary supporters--mostly middle-aged and older white women who want desperately to see a female POTUS in their lifetimes. They resent Obama for beating their girl and shattering their dreams. In Palin, they have their chance once again. That's my theory, anyway. Also, Palin's son is shipping off to Iraq, so she is a genuine security mom who will appeal to other security moms.
This is McCain's election to lose. Obama is vulnerable, and his asinine choice of Biden for VP only made things worse for him. The GOP has more material on Biden than they can ever stuff into their campaign ads. The guy is an arrogant joke, and he always has been. Thanks to McCain's brilliant choice, he has secured my vote and, undoubtedly, those of a vast majority of conservatives--many of whom may have stayed home had McCain chosen a moderate or liberal.
Regarding the experience question, Palin has much more experience as a governor than Obama does in the Senate, where he has logged, last I saw, only 143 days. Obama has governed nothing beyond his own household, in which Michelle probably wears the pants, anyway.
McCain + Palin = Winning Ticket

Personally I'm also a fan of Condi. She's was smart lady but the libs would have had a field day with her. I consider Condi one of the smartest (education and experience) people that we have in the government today.
At least McCain didn't pick another white male. That would have been a dead end.
I wanted Romney, but Palin does seem to be the better choice.
McCain solidified my vote as well.
Condi Rice is no conservative. Don't be surprised if she endorses Obama.
Whatever Condi is, she has a lot of Iraq war baggage. Too much to run for major office.
I don't get involved in these political discussions much, but this has drawn me out.
I wasn't a big fan of either candidate up to this point. Obama/Biden scares the hell out of me.
McCain had my vote, by default before. This, at least, makes me happy about my vote now instead of just apathetic.
This was only a matter of time:

I loved this:
"Palin, a telegenic conservative, has led the oil-producing northwestern US state since December 2006 and was the first woman and youngest person to hold that state's top job. "(http://www.breitbart.com/article.php...show_article=1)
Telegenic: having an appearance and exhibiting qualities thought to be attractive to television viewers
The media just wants to say, "pretty" but they can't so they use this made-up word.
Of course after looking like asses for attacking Palin (their initial reaction), especially after McCain was more the man and congratulated Obama and Biden on their nomination, Obama is now back peddling with a new press statement,
“We send our congratulations to Gov. Sarah Palin and her family on her designation as the Republican nominee for vice president," said the Democratic ticket in a joint statement. "It is yet another encouraging sign that old barriers are falling in our politics. While we obviously have differences over how best to lead this country forward, Gov. Palin is an admirable person and will add a compelling new voice to this campaign."
Sounds a bit different than, "Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency," doesn't it?
HAHAHAHA
Obama sucks.
I tell ya what scares the shit out of me...
I live in the Deep South where Racism and Sexism play a VERY large roll in Politics and in everyday life. Its a sad situation really, where peoples opinions are based on on the color of your skin or what equipment your packing in your overalls.
As I watched the local news last night and coverage of the "Obama Parties" I was nauseated. Not 1 single time did any of the folks interviewed say anything about his experience, his ideas, or anything of the such. The only thing that rang the air waves was the fact he was the first black candidate to run in a presidential election.
I frightens me to think we as a country would vote someone in office based soley on the color of their skin.
I think if nothing else, Mccain made a very wise decision in picking a female running mate. He'll secure the extreme feminist votes just for that reason.
O.k. I'll be less politically correct....... Maybe that wasn't the best use of words.
I think he'll sucure the votes of the woman that are going to vote for her just because she's a woman like the votes that Obamas going to get just because he's black.
You'll never hear about his experiences. Have you heard from his Harvard Classmates? Nope. And you won't hear from anyone that he was a 'Community Organizer' with because he hides those people from the public. He associates with admitted and unrepentant U.S. Terrorists (Ayres) and con-men (Rezko). He's never been in charge of a single thing. He refuses to disclose the details of the legal cases in which he partook. He didn't give a single detail in his acceptance speech. Folks that have looked into the details predict severe economic gloom if the country turns down the path of socialism like BO desire.
You wouldn't hire a Harvard Grad to be the CEO of your company. Why are people 'excited' about this man and willing to put him in charge of the last world hyperpower? Because of 'Hope'? Because of 'Change'? People that buy into this crap are intellectually void.
No sir, this is very definitely NOT Janet Reno. Now this a change to the face of government for the better:
http://bp3.blogger.com/_alh8JTwprEw/...a_presser2.jpg
hot link died.
She basically already has.
http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5...Gn4mVVljzUgSwg
(Though she does her best to remain "loyal" to her Republicans)
Nope....Because of the color of his skin. And That Sir is what scares the shit out of me! Since when did race or sex become a prereq for the president ?????
These morons are making a mistake and a BIG one at that. The sad part... There may just be enough of these dumbasses to elect this guy....
You're kidding yourself if you think its because of the color of his skin.
The retard liberals are willing to put this guy in charge because he has a ton of charisma, speaks well when he has a working teleprompter, and his handlers have done a good job presenting him to the party.
Too bad he's a complete moron without a teleprompter, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omHUsRTYFAU
No doubt your right about that too but you don't have the shit shoved down your throat every day like we do in Memphis. In my lifetime I've seen my city flushed down the toilet by asshats like this guy, and why? Because the morons in this town, half of which don't have a high school education, or a drivers license to drive to the polls, are bussed in droves to the poles every election day to vote on "their" candidate for one and only one reason, the color of his/her skin. They don't have enough common sense to make a decision on whats right and wrong for this city or this country. They don't give a damn about whether their conservative or liberal and could care less.
In your spare time, google The mayor of Memphis, Dr. Willie Herenton and tell me if I'm out of line by thinking that way.
I thought she did a good job. The pitbull joke (which essentially is the role of the VP in the election season) with the lipstick was funny as well as the "community organizer" jabs at Obama.
I thought Rudy was great as usual. We need him to run for governor of New York in 2010.
Rudy does well with prepared speeches, but is a bit ragged in debates.
Palin's speech last night was the best Republican speech since Reagan. That it came from an unknown Washington outsider gave it drama. That she was being ripped all week and blew it all off to deliver the speech without a single stutter or "uh" or mistimed phrase was truly remarkable.
The stunned look on Olbermann's face was priceless.
To be honest I wasn't inspired. Reagan speeches - to this day - make me feel all tingly. He was the great orator.
I concur with Squid. Against all the odds, she nailed it. The lady has a gift.
Absolutely enjoyed the speech last night.
More impressive is that her speech brought in just over 37 million viewers.
