Anyone else plan on picking up Battlefield Bad Company ?
Hey, I thought this was only for console. Might have to check it out.
looks good to me. im in
Hadn't heard of it except for console either. I likely will buy it as I've had nothing but fun with the Battlefield brand. Even the "worst" of the series (BFV) was a lot of fun and better than a lot of games out there. What's the PC release date?
Shame on me. They've been sending me beta offers for about a year and I've ignored all of 'em. (sigh.)
dunno... all the problems with BF2 and the poorly received bf:2142 and the total lack of support for the Special Forces pack really turned me off BF. The video preview looks more like a BF2 clode... nothing really specially here so far.
Having not read anything about the game until 5 minutes ago... why am I not surprised that EA was considering charging players for add-on weapons? Fully destructible environments are cool though... bad guy hiding behind a wall? Blow the wall up. Guy under a tree? Shoot the tree with an RPG and have it fall and crush him. Fences, walls, buildings all reactive. Very nice. But the review of the beta wasn't promising. Tons of bugs, classic BF problems (spawn camping to no-end). A lot more focus on single player as well this time around. Hmmmm.
...which is why I totally ignored the beta offers.
Hell, I bought 2142 and have played it for a grand total of about 5 minutes. OTOH, I'm getting seriously hooked on TF2.
Oh....right. I forgot all about 2142. I didn't buy it after seeing the negative feedback around here. If I'm still playing and enjoying AoC when this drops, I'll probably wait for some reviews from my AK homies before dropping my hard-earned cash for this one.
I just cant see myself playing any BF games ever again, unless its amazing. BUT DARN I MISS THE OLD DAYS!
I was thinking just the other day how flying helos in Desert Combat was the most difficult thing I've ever done in a video game and how satisfying it was when I mastered it. Then we went on to things like Katana and I playing follow-the-leader flying through city streets below rooftop-level at top speed with each guy trying to shake the other.
And thinking of maps like Oil Rig, and launching SCUDS, and the havoc we wreaked with the AC-130 gunship...
Totally fu*king awesome.
Hands down, DC for me is the greatest game ever created. There has to be a core of die hards out there still playing it.
Pops and I got back into DC about a month ago. There are still a few servers and die-hard fans out there. The pilots have gotten that bunch better since we played but god damn if it wasn't still a blast.
BF2 had potential, but I enjoyed playing BF:V a lot. Nothing compares to DC. Now that was a lot of fun. I still have yet to find something as good as that game was. I am stil unsure about BF:BC. I may get back into DC again. Didn't they make a DC game for Vietnam?
From a console view, BF:BC is really a great game. The controls and design are tailored for the console crowd. So if you are playing it on the PC you'll notice some very simplistic control settings. BC really makes up for the gawd awful console version of BF2 which never really did work right.
I miss BF1942 and DC alot. I still remember my [TK] status :-)
For me, Tribes 1 and DC are the best team-based multiplayer games ever.
Anyone getting back into the BF Series? I have not been on in forever and I am thinking about getting my battlefield legs back.
They are finally adding conquest mode and some additional maps that really should have been a part of the game when it came out. However the fact they are still working on this is good to see. If the price drops to 29$ I would be inclined to pick it up for PS3.
