I picked up my copy today, time to learn many more routes
Picking it up after I get up and around today.
I got it and just have had no time to install. I will do it now and won;t be able to play tonoight since I have a concert to go to.. Any reivews?
I'm in for the weekend.
I'm going to wait 2-3 weeks to check the serious play meter before I buy. (I'm saving for my new house)
I'm going to EB over lunch today. I'll be installing and playing tonight (provided they have it in stock, of course. There's one near my house and another near my office, and both are pretty poor when it comes to getting new releases on time. Best Buy is worse, though.)
If you didn't get UT2004, why the heck are you going to possibly get this?Quote:

It's in my hot little hands and installing right now. I'll be on later, after I grab some supper. Those HL2/CS Source weenies don't know what they're missing! ;)
So, where is everyone? I'm tired of killing Kidd. (And tired of Pix killing me).
:lol2:
I was watching Monday Nite Football--it had big consequences for my fantasy team (in the non-AK league). I'll be on more now that the NFL is done for the week.
Went to Media Play the other day and got Saved!.. went and looked for T:V but they didn't have it. :(
I'll pick it up soon, probably tomorrow when I hit Best Buy for The Day After Tomorrow.
because I like thisQuote:

Bought on Sunday. Never played it before so I'm going through the single player... else I look like a tard online.
Is it worth picking up?
Just got it yesterday and itching to play with yall tonight on our sever! Who eles is going to play tonight!
I'll be there. And Fax, I'd say it's definitely worth picking up.
9 days since release (or about)
How is the interest meter?
How many of you bought it, and will still play it?
Any ladder talk?
I'll only be buying one game from now until 2005, so I'd like it to be the "Next AK Game" if possible...
My interest is high--I'm loving this game. There's some ladder talk, still in the prepare-and-organize phase. This will, in all likelihood be my only online game purchase until 2005 as well (BF2 is on target for a spring '05 release date). I could actually even see myself bypassing BF2 to stick with this game.
I haven't purchased it yet. I'm being frugal with my purchases this fall. ;)
I loaded Steam ,etc.. but I haven't ordered HL2/CS or Tribes yet. I'm not sure which, or if, I will buy yet. I still don't see the 'cluster' of AK accumulating toward any one title yet.
I bought it a few days ago and finally fired it up for the first time last night. I haven't had much time or energy for computer games lately, and I'm still savoring my second pass through Thief 3.
T:V looks like a good game. I especially like the grappling hook, which offers some fascinating movement options for cappers. From what I could tell, you can grapple onto anything, including vehicles and other players. Lots of possibilities there.
One initial complaint: The outdoor colors are painfully bright and cartoony. Is that how it's supposed to look, or do I need to mess with my video settings? And if that's how it's supposed to look, is there any kind of mod to make it look better?
My interest is high. I am unlikely to be playing anything else multiplayer anytime soon ... doesn't look like there's much else out there.
Its a good bit of fun! Not much else out there atm like AB said. Has potential to be a good time in the team based play arena as well IMHO. Some of the new maps in retail are really cool! You can get rid of some of the cartoonish look with some adjusting but overall your left with either like it or not. It does look great at 1280 x 1024 w/ 2a AA and 16x aniso tho ;)
i bought it
Wewp, I bought it today...(Along with LSL...)
Okay, on our server a few minutes ago, which was full, I got #1 score. All by defending. I'm starting to feel a little bit better about buying it. I'm not good at run and gun, but damnit, even I can repair a generator!
So the sqare peg and round hole diagram works for fixing Generator's? Sweet!! that means I could fix a generator too. Maybe I will need to buy it.Quote:

I'm chewing through the single-player game slowly. I set it on hard, and wow is it hard!
The multiplayer is growing on me. The grappler is the biggest innovation. Good cappers will be able to do reliable 90 degree turns right over the flag, which fundamentally changes cappling and flag D.
Is the rocker launcher useless, or am I just terrible with it? The fighters seem awfully powerful and too small to hit with that rocket spread. And the bomber's range seems just as long as the rocket launcher's. Fighters can obviously bring down the bombers, but what brings down the fighters?
The best way I have found to take down pod fighters is grapple on to them, and disc them out of the sky, only takes 2 hits with the spinfusor. The Burner also works well in that situation.
I got it yesterday for my Bday, (even though it's not officially until Tuesday).but what can I say my wife takes good care of me. I am going to stop by Best Buy Tuesday and grab the BFG 6800gt as well, then I should be good to go. I hopped onlastnight for little while but all the guys on vent were playing BFV, I hope tribes isn't fading out already, AK wise that is.
Ok, Gunny I may be making a mall run today too. I am in town for once in my life and playing this game online is on top of my list. Been slowly going thru the single player side and I think it stands on it own. Anyway I hope all the AKer's will be teaching me the finer points of tribe MP soon.
I'm up for a little T:V. Tuesday nite is probably best though.
Stop by the Team-Riven T:V server and say hi.
Eh...no thanks... :bye:
I got to play tonight since the whole DC fiasco, I hopped on a server with AB and Pix playing a custom map. Good map to learn on, it's amazing how much difference a vid card makes. That game is much better then my first impressions. Look forward to playing this a more often.
