What's the difference?
Raven Shield
Joint Operations
Call of Duty
You need more options than that, CS Source, Raven Shield, BF2 to name a few.
Or one that says "Whatever I want to play at the moment." Some folks will play this ... and some folks will play that ... and in the end, it's all a game. The next hot thing could change the gamescape in a moment. :-)
I can't wait 'till BF2....... :liplick:
Oh I have more choices Gunny, those are the biggies at the moment :)
The idea was to see how much interest there was left in BF:DC or BF:VN as compared to the inevitable interest in T:V. I agree..there are other games out there..and to say that you are going to play BF doesn't necessarily mean that you aren't going to play T:V...just wanted to see which direction we were heading in as a group. Its just a curiosity thing.
As Squidly has said, these things have a way of working themselves out.. and having been around for 3+ years I can attest to that.
No planetside? Ok,OK Nevermind, my subscription will be terminated this month..

What does that mean? :confused:Quote:

I haven't been in much of a PC gaming mood lately. I've been playing Dark Alliance 2 for the Xbox with my son when I feel the need for a little gaming. That way I get points for being a good Dad as well. :)
After playing T:V a bit over the weekend I think I still prefer the strategy/team work of BF. The speed and shoot/die of T:V is a bit much for this old man. I enjoy setting up C4... hiding out in a building and blowing up 3 guys. There just isn't the stealth and tactical aspects that I enjoy in BF present in Tribes.
I'll be asking the wife's permission to buy SW:Battlefront, which is released next week. I hope that other AKers buy it as well.
The organization is going in different direction then the camel wants. Darn!!! :oh:
Okay...so serious question time then...
What do those of us that still love BF do? I mean, we don't have enough AKers to field a regular squad for the ladders...pubbing only has allure for so long..
I'm not sure what the Standard Operating Proceedure is...
Perhaps Camel, Nuts and I play on the two man ladder?
Do we have enough interest for BF:VN 8 man? or 1942 8 man?
Purch, don't worry about it. It WILL work itself out, as both me and Squid have said.
We go through this every now and then (at least once a year), things have always worked themselves out.. and I'm sure they will continue to do so.
Just as a side note: Usually when we leave a game that some people aren't ready to drop they'll stick around and play it longer.. I.E. When AK left Tribes me and NR went our way to aYg (one of the top teams back at the time).. after we left that we started our own team, UTS, and went back to competition.
NR has since started up Team Riven with Solarwolf and they are playing Raven Shield at this point.
Purch it will work itself, dont worry. I still love DC and want to continue to play in ladder play, I cant see myself playing tribes.(Althought tribes is a blast) Just wait a little bud it will be OK, camel says so! ;)
I'm more inclined to play just Normal BF1942 no mod's or anything special. Just get back to the basics of the game.
For me, Secret Weapons was the high point of 1942. I could have played that for a lot longer.
I just have this horrible fear of me being the only one still interested in playing BF...
I've tried Tribes...it's interesting..and I'll prolly poke around with it a bit, but like Nuts said..it's just a little too fast for my liking...I love the slower strategy of BF. And it don't matter which one...VietNam, DC, Forgotten Heroes, Secret Weapons, 1942, heck..even Galactic Conquest is kinda neat.
Thanks for bearing with my panic, but I find a bunch of guys I like gaming with, but suddenly no one seems to be playing the same games....Guess I gotta learn to change with the times? LOL
We're a gaming clan, not a Battlefield clan or a DC clan. That pretty much sums it up.
Or ...
"We're a gaming clan of (mostly) mature folks with very low smacktard tolerance, who engage in a wide variety of interactive broadband entertainments in a plethora of virtual locales."
:uzi:
we can always count on squid's compassion though.
Purch,
don't sweat it. For me personally, bf and the variants have gotten old. I've played it off and on for 2 or 3 years.
there are always new games floating around. You could go the Rocks/Stitch route, and buy every single title released. But you will notice that a few people will buy a game, then they'll talk about it for a week, then you'll never hear about it again. One recent example, Doom3.
Trust me, play bf until the next best thing occurs. You'll know what it is when people talk/play it nightly after 2 weeks.
I can't believe I'm doing this,,,, but Squidly is right, were a GAMING clan, So with that being said who's with me to Play some BF1942 Secret Weapons??????Quote:

Sounds like you're really looking for someone to mince words.
Don't worry Purch, I am still very much interested in BF and DC in general. The only thing holding me back from playing reguarly is the whole school thing. Gotta make sure I don't screw up this last year, that way I don't get screwed when it comes to going to college.
oh, did I forget the smiley to show sarcasm?
:):):):):):):):):):):)
my apologies. btw, how did you know about that site? hmmmmmmmmmmm?
The ever growing "Game Forum" section of this forum pretty much sums up the history of AK (post tribes era). :)
Why I otta........... :kiss:Quote:

Hahaha. It's funny how everyone here mentions the online dating sites. If anyone still remembers, that's what the ex went for. :lol2: It's a sad, sad world (not really but in this case, it is!) ;)
