I agree. It just really scares me that the Treasury Secretary is talking about government ceasing companies at will. Yes, I know they gave them money, but we are talking about private enterprises being takent over...

Its my understanding that the money wasnt "given" to them. Im not on the up and up but my guess would be its no different than owing the goverment back taxes in which case they pretty much do what ever they want in order to make sure they get thier money. In this case get thier money back.
Just hours after talking about the hardship America faces and how we must all make tough choices and sacrifices.... President Obama headlined a few dinners in D.C. and helped stuff the DNC coffers with over $3,000,000 dollars.
I guess the "we're in this together" and "biparitisn cooperation" was all a bunch of bullshit. 64 days in office and he's already out there raising money for Democrats.
He wouldn't cause he hasn't, nor has any of the Dims in Congress.
Funny reading the majority of these post, it seems people actually look for a reason to dislike the guy, even if what he is doing is no different than any other president.
There is something to what Bojan says.
I long despised the knee-jerk negativism of the left during the Bush years, and I've really been trying hard to fight my own pessimism during Obama's presidency.
Hard to believe given what I've posted here perhaps, but trust me when I say that what you've seen from me is only a fragment of the fury of a fully operational anti-Democrat Squidlydeathstar.
I guess what I'm feeling at this point is what NFL fans feel when they realize that their team is looking at <4 wins. Detached resignation to our fate.
Bojan,
I really like your point as well, and I can only speak for myself...
Yes, I am very bitter at this point...
This guy has ZERO experience... And yet like the bible says we are like sheep for the slaughter... We follow right down the road and drink the kool aid..
What was it?? 12 seconds after midnight with his winning speech Obama backed away from his statement of fixing our economy to saying well we might not fix in the first 4 years, and it might take the next 8 years, but we will get it done???
How weak is that... I know a lot of people did not like Bush and yes the man made mistakes, but he was Governor before he was President and at least he can say yes, I had problems and I did something about them.. I never heard one republican say Bush was the Messiah… Oh, but all the Libs are crying his name bigger than Abe, George, and Jesus himself… Oh that’s right Libs don’t like the name Jesus… Sorry about that my mistake…
But, yes you are correct..
An extremist is more likely to vote, than a reserved neutralist. So don't be surprised when we wind up with one extreme or the other. I feel that Obama is tring to play the unconventional political Underdog. It seems like he has decided that "Everything" has been done wrong, so lets try something new with "Everything". Problem is , it is difficult to take such controversial moves like that without making some wrong steps. Problem is he has been made so "Larger than life" by the biased media (who was just looking for ANY Underdog to make headlines with, be it a Black man, or a Woman) that now we have to worry about Hubris. He is playing with a stacked deck. And he was gained the sway of the mob. luckily the mob is fickle, once he is forced to concede on a few issues, and more blow up in his face, the mob will see that he does bleed. Once he is made mortal in the eyes of the Mob again, i think we will see him slow his roll a little on some of his radical proposals.
I dont worry too much about it any more. I still feel that Bush's first election was sooo shady that I lost most of my respect for our election system. And I feel that the media's vote accounted for a good chunk of the election.
When Clinton was elected conservatives were slashing their wrists and leaping off buildings. It was the end of the world.
Well, the Republic did not crumble.
Now Obama may be several steps to the left of Mr. Clinton but I don't buy the "irreparable damage to the country" lingo that been bandied about on talk radio.
We'll survive Obama.
I expect the country will get sick of Obama and the Democrat congress (absolute power corrupts absolutely) and begin tossing them out of office. The pendulum will swing again to the right. It's the nature of things.
Survive this though?
