By far one of the greatest movies of my generation, The Karate Kid was the must see move of 1985. Like Weird Science, my friends and I knew every line; and who didn't practice the Crane at least once? Well, a small-time band has made a music videos and (get a load of this) have assembled the entire male cast from the movie to star in the video. The video itself was shot by 'Johnny' and they even got Ralph to make an appearance. You'll recognize the entire Kobra Kai team as well as the coach and the ref from the final match. Be sure to also watch the 'behind the scenes' featurette.

Nuts..... have you forgotten about one very key and important movie from that time frame back in the 80's??
My Science Project!

Going through some old links this afternoon and found this link that reminded me of flying with an expired drivers license and having the TSA tell me that my concealed weapons permit (which required an FBI background check) wasn't acceptable government-issued I.D...
TSA Gangstaz (NSFW)
Found the link at stupidsecurity.com, exposing security theater since 2003.
Speaking of Stupid TSA Rules, I recently received my Transportation Workers Identification Credential. This is an ID that is given to maritime workers and requires a background check by Homeland Security before issuance. So here I sit, with my Federal ID card that contains biometric data and proves that I've had a background check and is issued by the TSA. Now the TSA also has a Registered Traveler service in which average Joe Citizen can pay $138 to a private company that collects and submit private information and then DOHS runs a background check and TSA issues an ID card. Holders of these Federal ID card that contains biometric data and proves that they have had a background check (and is issued by the TSA) get a special lane for going through airport security in select cities.
Question... can I use my TWIC for FastTrack?
Answer... NO.
From the TSA: "Thank you for your inquiry. You are referring to TSA's Register Traveler (RT) Program. These are two different programs and currently the TWIC does not allow you to use the "Fast Lane Option" at airport screening, however the TWIC is now being used as an official proof of ID at the screening area by TSA.
TSA may review the applicability of the similar programs in the future and see if the TWIC, HAZMAT, and Register Traveler will be joined together."
That's government. Lockhead Martin charged my employer $138 for a TWIC. They will then charge them another $138 for RegisteredTraveler... both of which are the same damn thing!
