ROFL
Oh no!!! Those students are in grave danger!
Think about this.Quote:
Intel says that AMD = WMD for Syria.
Think about it!
Microsoft says that Linux = cancer.
Is Linux really a WMD cancer cure ---> Microsoft's socialist northwest headquarters?
Just pulled the trigger on system upgrade. Instead of getting a second complete system, I'm going to just upgrade the one I have.
Got the 2600 Tbred processor, 512 MB CL2 Memory, Biostar KT400 MB, and a new case.
I'll keep my current HDs and OS (ME ).
The Biostar I was looking out was no longer being sold, but they had a comparible model with onboard ethernet.
All for the low price of $365. :D
Damn you Hale! Get rid of the WindowsME. I swear your keeping it just to drive the rest of us nuts. You must be living out some sic fantasy with this. Get a copy of XP pro! You owe it to yourself.
Your starting to be as stubborn with ME as Slaughter was coughin up the 7bucks to get the Planetside demo. Why is everyone so stubborn!

I heart ME!
Fedex has it in Los Angles. I should have it by Thursday!
I hated ME.. that was the most unstable, useless OS I ever used...
You sure it wasn't the user?
I was at a Microsoft conference last year where the company rep giving the talk actually apologized for that OS (jokingly, of course).
ME was just awful. If you're going to go old-school on the OS'es, at least go Win98SE.
98SE was the shiz.. I have my tiny HD on my computer setup with it.. ;)
Got the stuff today!
Quick AMD question. Processors with a 333 FSB are '166' processors? Looks like 266 FSB processors are '133', which makes sense.
That is true. 166 x 2 = 333 (332) FSB ; 133 x 2 (266) FSB
I'm up and running my new system! Seems stable and 3D Mark 2001 reports 12200 with standard settings. :) Not too shabby for doing it on the cheap.
I had to take tin snips to my old Compaq case before I figured out that the 'screwless' drive bays actually did have a few screws.
Two issues if anyone has ideas:
The system hangs on restart. Pressing the reset button brings it up without a problem, but it will sit on a blank screen with a prompt otherwise. Oddly enough, shutdown works fine.
I can't get my mike to work. I have 6 channel audio on this mb, which changes the line and mike in ports to line out ports. How do I switch between them? I've read the manual and FAQ, but they are written in Chinglish and I only understand about 40% of it.
