Keep me posted if they figure out the massively high tech and complex problem of getting a mouse to work properly in 2010.
Hy try the renaming thing as people in that same thread said it fixed control issues for them too.
Had no effect. I even loaded the latest Logitech drivers for my mouse and nothing... still doesn't work.
Mouse works on all screens up to the point where I enter battle - then it just points straight down and shakes. I can move around with the keyboard keys, but I can't look anywhere.
Sorry.. very sorry when basic mouse movements can't be done properly.
which mouse do you have?
@Hylander
I had some mouse issues when I plugged in a joystick. By default, the 'on-foot' control menu has joystick key mappings, and the game wanted to override the mouse/keyboard in favor of the joystick mappings. My character was constantly running forward due to an open joystick throttle. I had to unmap all the joystick key maps for the 'on-foot' controls.
Hope this helps.
I have a Logitech MX1000.
Fax, I don't have any joystick or other devices connected - but I'll remove the joystick items and see what happens.
I had to unmap them by binding all the actions to the main trigger as I went down the list. The throttle and tilt/roll axis were the problems, so I wound up binding everything to the trigger button. As you go down the action list, binding to the trigger cancels out the last keymap, so in reality I have only the action 'sprint' mapped to the trigger button.
OK - So I'll have to connect a joystick and remap it.
I wanted to get caught up on the single player story so I picked up the PS3 version of the first Bad Company and have been enjoying the heck out of it the past few days. There are still tons of people playing the MP portion of the game. I'm really jazzed for this new one coming out on the PC.
I have played the BC2 demo quite a bit on PS3. It's impressive; I think I'll pick it up for PC. It would be nice to see a good portion of AK active in something other than WoW, so I'm hoping it generates interest.
I preordered the PC versions. Ready to go...
As have I, the game is impressive, and a great feel. Its the same feeling I got going to MC for the first time.....:proud::proud:
I have yet to get in on the beta, but I'm definitely planning on picking this up. The Battlefield series has long been one of my favorites; hopefully it's as moddable as previous versions. Desert Combat kept BF1942 going for a year or more past the point when interest might otherwise have waned.
Preordered, can't wait for launch.
I deleted the POS Beta off my system. I'm not buying it if they can't even get mouse functionality correct.
Mouse issues have been dealt with for retail release (I mentioned this on Facebook earlier)
I'm working the midnight launch at Gamestop tonight. We have over 100 reserves between the 360, PS3 and PC version of the game. I'll be home installed and playing by 1:30am(EST) I think I'll play the Single Player part of the game for now to see how the gang of B-Company (Haggard, Sarge, Sweetwater and Marlow) are doing and I'll save diving into Multiplayer till tomorrow when you guys are home and ready to play.
For those of you buying the PC version and have no idea about how the story progressed in the first game. Here is a quick and dirty synopsis of it. Preston Marlow was going to be convicted of a crime but was given a pass if he joined the Army's B-Company. Upon joining B-Company he and his three other squad mates were thrust into a battle with fierce Russian insurgents and a ruthless mercenary squad. B-Company finds a gold bar and quickly learns there are crates upon crates of gold hidden in a secret area that they are determined to find. The game was filled with alot of good one liner humor and tongue in cheek situations. For the most part it is a modern day telling of Kellys Heroes.
just waiting on steam to unlock.. (1pm tomorrow I assume)
I'll only purchase if Stitch puts the purchase price in an escrow account to reimburse me if my mouse doesn't work.
Should have mine on the 3rd.....im lazy im waiting for them to ship it next day!
I'm not buying it until Hylander re-subscribes to World of Warcraft.
Just kidding, I'll probably pick it up in the next day or so.
That's like getting me to promise not to TK anyone! It's just not in the cards baby!
I have played half a dozen matches this morning having a blast. I did run into a server disconnect after I reached the next rank and unlocked two guns. It didn't carry over so I was back to where I had started the previous match, that bummed me out a bit. I need to get something to eat and then I'll be back in getting my rank and unlocks sorted out.
Gunny, I accepted your friend request in game, I'm not sure if that is from the full retail release, or if it was from the Beta version.
Whats the price for it on STEAM?
Downloading now, and 50 bucks to the last question, I think its 44 directly from ea.
I bought it on Steam.
I pre-ordered on steam, but can't download it.
it says "Not yet released" as the status.
wtf?
I'm going to Steam it as soon as I get home. Hoping to have it for tonight but tomorrow for sure.
only took and hour to download.. See you tonight!
Mine just got delivered to my house woot......see ya tonight :)
Wow....MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE PUNKBUSTER BEFORE TRYING TO PLAY THE GAME.....www.evenbalance.com I did that i had no issues all night. Great maps, infantry all the way, see yall tonight!
Updated PB and ensured firewall port forwarding (27666) and disable Antivirus. Still having PB kick issues. For the most part this game is unplayable since 9.30pm last night.

I had a lot of PB problems, but finally got them sorted out. Now the problem is that the game runs like a pig, even with all the graphical options turned all the way down. How is it that I can run Mass Effect 2--a game with superior graphics--at high frame rates, but can barely keep BC2 above 20 FPS?
The new R4 server builds have resolved my PB issues. We look good to go! just played for an hour.
Downloading. Will be interesting to see how this game performs on my Mac Pro.
I have put 3-4 long sessions in! Great game rank 5 now and have some kool goodies. Lets all get together this weekend if possible......dicusss
The servers all seemed to be down last night. Not sure if this is a regular thing. Also when you say update punkbuster, do you mean you're downloading and patching it separately from the deal that gets installed when you buy it?
Anyway in solo play it didn't lag or chop at all for me on the Mac. 1280x1024, medium graphics settings.
Is this game any good?
The server load at night and the EA/PB connection issues are frustrating, but I know they will get it sorted out soon.
What I can say about the game Bribo, is that it does have the classic feel of 1942, but updated to the point where the modern day combat weapons and scenarios feel fresh and the class progression and unlockables make playing the game even more exciting.
From a Single Player view, the story is very good and the characters are both funny and help move the story along in both a serious and dead pan humor way.
In talking with Beast, Rocks and Camel the other night, we discussed maybe getting a dedicated server setup if the numbers and interest grown for this game. It offers quite a bit and I honestly feel is going to have long lasting appeal.
