Have to give bootsy props he has made himself a versatile bassists I have heard him playing in many different bands. I talked with Bootsy and asked how he felt about playing in so many different bands with varying styles and he basically said it is all about the groove. The groove is allways there no matter what style you are playing. Met a lot of musicians over the years and Bootsy is one of the nicest most pleasent people to talk to and just shoot the breeze all together.
Also I am writing in as a best rock bassist I would like to throw in Cliff Burton's name in. He is really the one that influenced me start playing bass. Also he is the first bassists to start using effects and really bring the instrument more into the forefront of the band. Plus anyone who has the guts to put a bass solo on their first album has to have some cahones, especially with a title like Anesthia Pulling Teeth. I am sure most people would have just cringed at a title like that.
