Patch 3 of Day 1 of Tribes2...  20:44 PST | [AK]Zorro
Word at Tribalwar.com is that we are to expect another patch this evening...

The patch will address two major issues:

1) The -2902 problem

2) Load-balancing issues

When this patch is ready (probably quite late tonight), the "invalid CD Key" issue will go away and the community sections and Auth Servers will behave.

Once again, I sincerely apologize for the hassles you all have been through today trying to play what is truly a good game.

We'll keep hammering down issues until they're all gone. But we'll start with these two issues and move on from there.
Good...perhaps I'll be able to play the game now...grrr...

T2 is MINE!  11:28 PST | [AK]Palooka
Thankfully, Software Etc. pulled through for me today, and I hold T2 in my hot little hands. Alas, I must wait until I get home tonight to get my first taste of perfection.

First known Tribes 2 Review  9:00 PST | [AK]Palooka
Game-Guru.net has posted the first Tribes 2 review that I have seen. Here's an excerpt:
Thankfully, veteran Tribes players will feel right at home with the sequel. In terms of gameplay, very little has changed. All your old favorite modes of gameplay (such as the ever popular Capture the Flag) have been transported from the original flawlessly. Also, all of your old weapons are back for another spin; though they have a few graphical updates, all the classics remain virtually the same in functionality.
It's good to hear that they basically kept the game mechanics as-is. If it ain't broken, don't fix it! Check out the rest of the review here.

Waiting is the Hardest Part  1:51 PST | [AK]Palooka
For all of you who aren't already in enough pain waiting for T2, check out the nifty Bink movie that I found at Tribalwar.

Sierra Announces Half-Life: Blue Shift  19:38 PST | [AK]Palooka
Sierra Studios announced today the release of their newest product in the Half-Life series, Blue Shift. This time around, you play a security guard rather than Gordan Freeman or a soldier. Here's a blurb from the press release:
In development by Gearbox Software, creators of the critically acclaimed Half-Life(r): Opposing Force(tm), Blueshift also contains the Half-Life HD Pack, which automatically upgrades the weapons and characters of all the games in the Half-Life saga with new high definition content.
The graphical improvements may make the game worth the price of admission.

Black & White Review  15:38 PST | [AK]Palooka
DailyRadar.com has posted a very positive review of Black & White. Here's an excerpt from the review:
Black & White is one of the most compelling, beautiful and impressive pieces of code we have played in a long, long time. It is also insanely addictive. It combines the city-building of Sim City with the animal-raising of Tamagotchi, yet it takes those two passive activities and throws in some good old-fashioned Godzilla vs. Mothra monster fighting. Finally, someone has allowed us to raise our own enormous, ass-kicking, crap-throwing, carnivorous chimp!
Sounds good to me!

Neverwinter Nights Preview  15:17 PST | [AK]Palooka
